  • Pixel conversion only. Original EXIF, GPS, XMP and ICC profiles are not copied; processing uses 8-bit display pixels.
  • Still image output. Animated files use only the first frame; animation is not preserved.

What happens when you convert WebP to PDF?

Animation becomes a still

Still image output. Animated files use only the first frame; animation is not preserved.

Pixels on a PDF page

Output is a one-page raster PDF at 96 DPI, not an editable vector document.

Is WebP → PDF right for you?

Good choice when

  • PDF fits your delivery use: Fixed-layout documents & print.
  • You want a still illustration from an animated source.
  • You need a document page for printing or delivery.
  • You need a transparency-capable destination and will check its supported variant.

Probably not when

  • Motion, frame timing or loop behaviour must survive.
  • You expect OCR, vector tracing or a smaller image from a PDF wrapper.
  • You assume format-level alpha support guarantees matching transparent edges.
  • You require identical samples without a defined colour and precision policy.

WebP to PDF conversion details

Animation becomes a still
Still image output. Animated files use only the first frame; animation is not preserved.
Pixels on a PDF page
Output is a one-page raster PDF at 96 DPI, not an editable vector document.
Transparency representation
The implemented target supports alpha. Display-pixel processing can round translucent samples; archival sample equality is not promised.
Sample precision & colour
Pixel conversion only. Original EXIF, GPS, XMP and ICC profiles are not copied; processing uses 8-bit display pixels.
Metadata & colour
Pixel conversion only. Original EXIF, GPS, XMP and ICC profiles are not copied; processing uses 8-bit display pixels.
Compression
WebP: Lossy & lossless → PDF: Depends on variant WebP: Lossy VP8 and lossless VP8L are different coding modes. Lossless WebP preserves supported 8-bit samples, not higher-precision source values. Encoding options can also change RGB values under fully transparent pixels. PDF: PDF has no single compression quality. Different streams may use lossless or lossy filters; page rasterization can remove document structure even when the resulting pixels are encoded losslessly.
Transparency
Transparency is replaced with white by default. Change the background in Advanced options.
Animation
Still image output. Animated files use only the first frame; animation is not preserved.
Colour depth
WebP: 8 bits/sample
Multiple images
PDF: Page tree
Vector graphics
PDF: Paths & text on pages
Dimensions
Rendered image dimensions are retained within the converter limits; this tool does not offer resizing. Orientation handling depends on the source decoder.
Metadata
Pixel conversion only. Original EXIF, GPS, XMP and ICC profiles are not copied; processing uses 8-bit display pixels.

Common questions

Will the output keep animation?

Still image output. Animated files use only the first frame; animation is not preserved.

Will PDF turn the image into searchable text or vectors?

Output is a one-page raster PDF at 96 DPI, not an editable vector document.

Are bit depth and colour values guaranteed to match?

Pixel conversion only. Original EXIF, GPS, XMP and ICC profiles are not copied; processing uses 8-bit display pixels.

Will metadata and colour profiles be retained?

Pixel conversion only. Original EXIF, GPS, XMP and ICC profiles are not copied; processing uses 8-bit display pixels.
